What is

Facial Contouring Surgery ?

Facial contouring surgery aims to reshape and soften facial lines,

eliminating undesirable facial characteristics

(i.e. large prominent jaw line or square-shaped face).

The desired features may be acquired through square-jaw surgery,

cheek bone reduction and/or genioplasty.

V-line Facial Contouring Procedure

To reshape the undesirable square jaw, accurate analysis of the bone,
muscle, fat layer and risks must be obtained prior to any decisions.

If the appearance of a square jaw is due to muscle development, surgically removing portions
of the lower chin bone would be most effective in eliminating the square appearance.

If the appearance is a structural issue, the square-jaw surgery smooths the square jaw
until a curve is formed down to the chin.

Addition of a chin (Genioplasty – T excision surgery) can also be performed if the front chin is
blunt and manipulate the facial structure.

When the overall size of the jaw needs to be reduced, mandibular resection that cuts
the cortical bone or master resection will be done simultaneously.

Who needs V-line Facial Contouring?

Those with :

  • 01
    Square jaw
  • 02
    Over-developed chin
  • 03
Undesirably wide or large face shape
  • 04
    Long facial profile
  • 05
    Facial asymmetry
  • 06
Desire for a small slim face shape

Methods of V-line Facial Contouring

Mandibular Resection

Mandibular Resection is a surgical procedure that removes the exterior cortex of the jaw bone.

This results in reduced bone thickness, face width and surrounding muscles.

Lower Chin Resection

Lower Chin Resection is the most basic form of V-line square jaw surgery.

It is performed to create a natural curvature from below the ear, minimizing the damage on the muscles and nerves.

Through this method, the jawbone thickness is significantly improved, giving a slim V-line result.

T Fracture Surgery

T Fracture Surgery is the most natural and definitive method of surgery in ensuring a V-line.

The front jawbone is fractured in the shape of a ‘T’ and gathered, refining areas that protrude.

This method is most suitable for those with a wide and blunt front jaw.

Dr. K’s Guide to V-Line Procedures

A result that is suitable for the overall balance of the face shape is important for all surgical procedures.

Safety is of the highest priority for all surgical procedures however, it is also important to ensure
that facial balance is acquired for aesthetic procedures such as genioplasty.
For these surgical procedures, thorough research and planning should be carried out
as the surgeon’s experience and skill is critical in creating an overall balanced and natural result.
Accurate analysis and diagnosis of the thickness and condition of the bone is essential
in performing precision surgery in minimal time.

Dr. K has both the experience and skill to promise a safe and satisfactory result.

Before & After

Cheek Bone Reduction Surgery

Cheek bone reduction surgery improves the rough and
masculine features resulting from protruding cheekbones.

After accurate diagnosis and planning, the appropriate knowledge and skills
can be applied to ensure the safety of the surgical procedure and aesthetic improvement.
This would minimize the possibility of saggy cheeks and other side effects.

Who needs cheek bone reduction?

Those with :

  • 01
Strong facial characteristics due to prominent cheekbones
  • 02
Shading under the cheek due to prominent cheekbones
  • 03
Large facial width due to cheekbones
  • 04
    Bumpy cheekbones
  • 05
    Uneven cheekbones

Cheek Bone Surgery Procedure

  • L-osteotomy on zyagomatic body
  • Straight ostetomy on zygomatic arch
  • Wedge osteotomy on inner zygoma
  • Reposition of zygoma
  • Fixation on body & arch with plate
  • Basal view after cheek bone reduction

Before & After

Genioplasty

Genioplasty refers to the procedure that refines an unbalanced chin
using a variety of methods that range from prosthesis to surgery.

Dr. K’s years of experience and skills in multiple genioplasty procedures
allow the delivery of a safe and innovative approach tailored to individuals.

Who needs Genioplasty?

Those with :

  • 01
    Wide and rounded chin
  • 02
Dissatisfaction of face shape due to rounded chin
  • 03
Long or protruding chin than normal
  • 04
    Short chin than normal

Methods of Genioplasty

Straight Bone Fracture Method

Straight bone fracture method is a traditional method where the bone of the chin is cut straight across.

This method is most effective and suitable for patients with a narrow chin.

It is a relatively straight-forward procedure, shortening the length of the chin compared to narrowing a rounded chin.

Counter V Fracture Method

Counter V fracture method is a modified straight bone fracture technique.

It aims to narrow the chin and reduce the possibility of nerve damage.

T Fracture Surgery Method

T fracture surgery method is the most natural and definitive surgical

method that is suitable for patients with a wide and blunt jaw.

The jawbone is fractured in a T-form and gathered, while the protruding areas are refined.

T Tongue in Groove Method

T Tongue in groove method is a fundamental surgical method that

does not require prosthesis transplant and effectively lengthens the chin.

This method however, is an advanced surgical method that requires substantial jaw surgery experience.
